Midtown Pedestrian and Bicycle Crossings Project

The Midtown Crossings Project is making travel safer for all users on four key corridors: Greenwood Avenue, Franklin Avenue, Hawthorne Avenue and Second Street.

FRANKLIN AVENUE CONSTRUCTION – Additional Closure Sept. 1-3 for Paving Work 

  • Tuesday, Sept. 1 – Paving on Franklin Avenue from Third Street to Fourth Street
    • Requires eastbound traffic closure (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Wednesday, Sept. 2 – Paving on South side of Franklin Avenue from Fourth Street to Eighth Street
    • Requires eastbound traffic closure (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Thursday, Sept. 3 – Paving North side of Franklin Avenue from Fourth Street to Eighth Street
    • Requires westbound traffic closure (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)

A detour will be in place on NE Third Street, Greenwood Avenue, and NE Eighth Street.

After paving, east bound Closure Continues

  • EASTBOUND CLOSURE: Franklin Avenue from Third Street to Fourth Street, one-way westbound travel only
  • START DATE: Monday, August 17
  • DETOUR ROUTE: Third Street to Greenwood Avenue to Eighth Street

Westbound Closure Continues

  • WESTBOUND CLOSURE: Franklin Avenue from Second Street to Third Street, one-way eastbound travel only
  • DATE: August 3 through early September
  • DETOUR ROUTE: Third Street, Greenwood Avenue, and Wall Street
  • Work also continues between First and Third Street
