Did you receive a parking ticket?


Within 10 days of receiving a ticket, you have the following options:

Pay Parking Ticket

Tickets not paid within 10 days of issuance will be considered unpaid and might incur additional administrative fees.

Tickets unpaid past 60 days will be sent to collections. Additional penalties will be added.

Appeal a Parking Citation

You have 10 calendar days following the issue date of this citation to file an appeal and request an administrative hearing to resolve your parking citation.

The City of Bend offers significant discounts on early citation payments for "Overtime" citations. Please see the table below to determine how you can save big on your citation payment.

Don't be that guy or gal! The penalty for repeated parking violations within any 365 consecutive day period are steep and can be avoided by following parking rules and regulations.

 5 to 9 parking violations  10 to 14 parking violations

A $45 parking citation turns into a $90 citation! A $45 parking citation turns into a $135 citation! A $45 parking citation turns into a $180 citation!


If you feel that you have received a parking citation in error, you should follow the directions below. The same directions can be found on the back of your citation.

How many days do I have?

You have 10 days to appeal your parking citation and request a hearing.

How do I request a hearing?

City of Bend Municipal Code Chapter 6.25.000 allows individuals to appeal the issuance of UNPAID parking tickets within 10 days of the issue date. Use the Parking Citation Appeal Form to submit your appeal.

What hearing options are there?

 Written Appearance (Hearing by mail)  In person hearing:
Use the Parking Citation Appeal Form to send your written appeal to the Bend Parking Services Division, clearly state why you are appealing the citation and are requesting a hearing. Choosing either option does NOT waive your right to a court trial. If a citation can't be resolved during the administrative hearing, a trial at Municipal Court can be requested. Additional Court Fees may apply.

Insufficient reasons for appeals include:

  • Lack of knowledge of regulations
  • Other vehicles were also parking improperly
  • Lack of space
  • Unread or misunderstood signs
  • Parking only for short period of time
  • Failure to display parking permit
  • Lost citation or forgetfulness, are NOT grounds to appeal a citation.

What if I don't pay?

You have 10 days after receiving a parking citation to pay or appeal the citation. The following administrative fees are added if parking citations remain unpaid:

$15 administrative fee at 30 days after issue date

$15 administrative fee at 60 days after issue date

If a parking citation remains unpaid for longer than 60 days it is sent to a collection agency and a 25% fee is added. The vehicle with the unpaid citation might also be subject to immobilization, and additional fee might apply.
