STARTING WEDNESDAY, NOV 5 - ONE-WAY DIRECTION SWITCHES TO WESTBOUND CLOSURE
Construction is underway on Franklin Avenue, between Fourth and Eighth streets. To reduce traffic impacts, one direction of travel will remain open throughout the construction period:
• September through October – Eastbound closed, westbound open
• NOVEMBER 5 through early December – WESTBOUND CLOSED, EASTBOUND OPEN
Please use detours via Greenwood Avenue and plan ahead for additional travel time. Access to businesses will be maintained throughout construction.

The NE Franklin Avenue Corridor Project will reduce conflict points and calm traffic to improve safety for all users. To increase efficiency, NE Franklin Avenue, between Fifth and Eighth streets, a portion of the Bend Bikeway Project will also be constructed as part of the Midtown Crossings Project. Design work continues for NE Franklin Avenue from Harriman Street to Fifth Street.

Franklin Avenue - Fourth Street to Eighth Street Construction
To increase efficiency, NE Franklin Avenue, between Fifth and Eighth streets, a portion of the Bend Bikeway Project, will be constructed as part of the Midtown Crossings Project. Construction on NE Franklin Avenue from Fourth to Eighth Street will begin September 2.* View the design. Franklin Avenue - Harriman Avenue to Fourth Street
As part of the the Midtown Crossings Project, design work continues on this portion of the project to make walking, biking and rolling safer and more convenient on Franklin Avenue from Harriman Street to Fifth Street. Anticipated improvements to sidewalks and bike lanes, lighting, landscaping and stormwater management, fencing or railing, painting and upgraded signs between Harriman Avenue and Fourth Street.
The project team appreciates the valuable input received from all participants of the January Franklin (Harriman - Fourth Street) online open house. A summary of the January online open house is below.
