Landscape and irrigation contractors play a critical role in the management of irrigation systems in Bend.  They initiate irrigation system startups, program irrigation controllers, make repairs and efficiency upgrades and more.

Contractors that focus on water efficiency as part of their business tend to save their customers water, money on monthly utility bills, and reduce their dependence on local natural resources.

Conservation Connection is a quarterly newsletter for Bend's local landscape and irrigation industry. Stay up to date on the City's WaterWise Program and learn about ways to help your customers save water.

Irrigation Inspection Forms

The City of Bend recommends that irrigation system owners perform regular inspections of their system.  The simple yet effective tips can save serious amounts of water when performed regularly.  Below are some basic irrigation inspection checklist forms that we encourage homeowners and contractors to use.

Large Landscape Program

Are you a contractor that manages irrigation at a large landscape of one acre or more?  If so, the Large Landscape Program may be a great tool to offer your customers.  This program pairs water conservation staff with contractors and owners or large landscapes to find water savings.

Sprinkler Inspection Program

Interested in having a City of Bend water conservation staff member inspect an irrigation system for your customer?  If so, feel free to request an inspection.  Each inspection includes a visual inspection of the system running, tests for precipitation rate, soil type and pressure, and a one on one discussion with the owner or contractor on how to maximize the irrigation system for water efficiency.

How to Choose a Contractor

Choosing a landscape, irrigation or plumbing contractor to perform work can be a daunting task.

How to describe the work you’d like completed, what questions to ask potential contractors, and how to know what certifications or licenses are required are all things to consider before making that first call.

Irrigation Hours & Days

Be in compliance!  Make sure your irrigation is set to run during approved irrigation hours and days.

No irrigation between 9:00am and 5:00pm – even / odd days apply.  Any irrigation outside of these approved hours and days requires a Code Variance from the City of Bend water conservation office (541) 388-5569.
