The Bend Police Community Response Team (CRT) works closely with community partners to assist those who are facing mental health related issues.
The CRT unit has extensive training in various aspects of mental health, and helping people experiencing mental health issues connect with resources within the community.
Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training
This 40 hour training program is a model for community policing that brings together law enforcement, mental health providers, hospital emergency departments, and individuals and their families to improve responses to people in crisis. The Bend Police Department is working towards a goal of having 100% of our officers trained in this valuable program.
