  • Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program

The BMPO Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) identifies transportation projects in the BMPO that are programmed to receive funding over the next few years. The MTIP lists federally funded and locally funded projects anticipated by local agencies and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).

The MTIP contains a three-year listing of anticipated expenditures for locally funded projects drawn from the capital improvement programs of Bend and Deschutes County. It also lists projects from the ODOT Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The MTIP lists projects for which application of specific federal funds will be made in the next three years. Projects in the MTIP must be consistent with the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). Additionally, projects proposed for year four are included for informational purposes.

  • Annual Report of Obligated Projects

To ensure that the public has an accurate understanding of how federal funds are actually being spent on transportation projects, SAFETEA-LU includes a requirement that each MPO develop an annual listing of federal project obligations. The purpose of this effort is “to increase the transparency of government spending on transportation projects and strategies in metropolitan areas to state and local officials, and the public at large.”   Each report shows the federal funding obligated during the federal fiscal year (October 1st - September 30th) time period.  Please contact Bend MPO staff for more information or clarification, we would be happy to assist you.
