Fire insurance ratings, known as Insurance Services Office (ISO) Protection Classes, play a role in determining how well a property is protected in the event of a fire. These ratings are based on how close your home or building is to a fire station and a reliable water source, like a hydrant. The scale runs from Class 2, which indicates excellent protection, to Class 10, which means limited access to fire services.
