Be Fire Safe ~ Go FlamelessThe City of Bend Fire Department offers a flameless candle rental program for special events as a safe alternative to burning candles. All candles are flameless and battery operated. Batteries are included.
Candles Deposits and Fees
Candle rental fees and refundable deposits are required at time of pick up.
Votive candle $0.10 per candle battery fee, $2.00 per candle deposit, maximum rental: 300
4" Pillar candle $0.10 per candle battery fee, $9.00 per candle deposit, maximum rental: 15
6" Pillar candle $0.10 per candle battery fee, $15.00 per candle deposit, maximum rental: 15
The deposit will be returned under the condition that the rented candles are clean and undamaged.
Candle Information for Pick-up
A valid driver’s license or valid photo ID must be presented at the time of candle pick-up. The deposit payment and rental fee must be made separately by cash or check.
Candles may be picked up one business day prior to the event and should be returned the first business day after the event.
How to Reserve Candles
Please contact (541) 322-6309 or fill out a reservation request form to reserve candles. We do request a minimum of one week notice prior to the event. To ensure candle availability, please contact us early as possible to place your reservation.

Camp Fire Axe is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about a career in the fire service. It is a four day hands on camp packed with firefighter and emergency medical training. The classes are taught by professional firefighter/medics and are designed to give you first-hand experience on what it would be like work as a firefighter/paramedic for your community. This camp will not only give you insight to a firefighting career but also empower you to do things you never thought were possible. This camp is intensive and will challenge you physically and mentally. But the hard work you put in will give you confidence to know you can take command of your future!

Camp Fire Axe is held at the Bend Fire Training facility. Students live at the training center during the camp, day and night! Snacks, drinks and meals are all provided. Camp Fire Axe is limited to 12 students. Cost for the camp is 200 dollars but scholarships are available.

For over 10 years, Bend Fire & Rescue send a dedicated group of firefighters to participate in the Seattle Stair Climb with the sole purpose of raising money for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
