Come join the Bend Fire Department for its annual Open House Saturday October 7th from 11am to 3pm. There will be demonstrations of live fire and vehicle extraction, fun activates for all ages, safety and health information for everyone and ice cream!

This year’s theme for Fire Prevention Week is Smoke Alarms Save Lives: Test Yours Every Month. Almost three of five (60%) of reported home fire deaths in 2007 to 2011 resulted from fires in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms. Working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in reported home fires in half.
