The Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization (BMPO) is the federally designated, regional transportation planning organization for the Bend area.

The BMPO was designated in 2002 when the Bend area reached 50,000 in population. It is the lead agency for regional transportation planning in the Bend area. It is also the decision-making body for the area's federal and state transportation funding.

MPOs are charged with conducting a continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation planning process. The BMPO works with local governments to prioritize transportation needs for the BMPO area.

To view the main products that the BMPO produces to facilitate transportation planning in the Bend area, visit the BMPO Plans and Programs webpage.

To learn more about BMPO work currently underway, subscribe to a BMPO ("Bend MPO") interest list and get project updates, event notifications, and news sent directly to your inbox. Or consider attending a regular meeting of one of the BMPO committees.
