The Bend Urban Renewal Agency (BURA) is a separate municipal corporation responsible for governing, planning, and implementing the City of Bend’s three tax increment investment areas. The purpose of BURA is to fund projects and activities in an established investment area to assist in removing blight, improve property values, and leverage private investments.

In Bend, BURA is constituted by the Mayor and City Council as Agency Members. The City Manager services as the Executive Director of the Agency. Staff support is provided by Urban Renewal Division of the City of Bend’s Real Estate Department.
