The Climate Action Steering Committee (CASC) helps to establish a public engagement process for the adoption of the Community Climate Action Plan (C-CAP), develop the C-CAP, and recommend the C-CAP to City Council.

The recommendations provided by the CASC will guide the City and the community in pursuit of the goals to reduce fossil fuel use by 40% by 2030 and by 70% by 2050 as established in Resolution 3044.

 WORKING GROUP MEETINGS

This fall, the CASC is convening topic specific working groups to support the development of the Bend Community Climate Action Plan. The topics include energy supply, energy in buildings, waste & materials management, and transportation. The working groups play a vital role of helping brainstorm and develop potential actions we can take as a community to meet our fossil fuel use reduction goals.

Interested individuals are invited to participate in these working group meetings. Your interest and knowledge will be extremely important in helping us identify climate actions in this sector and in understanding the barriers to achieving our goals. Each working group meets twice, and we encourage participants can make both meetings. The first meeting will focus on understanding objectives and barriers for the sector, and the second meeting will focus on identifying climate actions.
