Fire Insurance Information
In our community—whether you live in in Bend or the Deschutes County Rural Fire Protection District #2—fire insurance protection class ratings reflect how well local resources like fire stations and hydrants can help keep your home safe.
Fire insurance ratings, known as Insurance Services Office (ISO) Protection Classes, play a role in determining how well a property is protected in the event of a fire. These ratings are based on how close your home or building is to a fire station and a reliable water source, like a hydrant. The scale runs from Class 2, which indicates excellent protection, to Class 10, which means limited access to fire services.
