We employ energy efficiency and fossil fuel reduction policies to guide City operations and growth plans.

The City of Bend is committed to making progress toward Climate Action Goals established by Council Resolution to reduce:

  • Carbon dioxide emissions from City facilities and operations to achieve carbon neutrality by the year 2030
  • Fossil fuel use for City facilities and operations by 40% by 2030 and 70% by 2050
  • Community wide fossil fuel use by 40% by 2030 and 70% by 2050

Efficient use of energy and conversion to renewable energy sources are the two main types of action we can all take to achieve these goals. The City is embarking on a planning process now and we want you to be a part of it!
