Affordable Housing Public Meeting
Bend residents are invited to attend a public meeting at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, in Council Chambers at City Hall, 710 NW Wall Street, to provide input on what affordable housing solutions could ease “rent burden” in Bend.

Council anticipates vacancy, announces process
The Bend City Council plans to declare a vacancy on the Council on Jan, 2, 2019, when Sally Russell becomes Mayor. Russell will vacate the remaining two years of Council Position 3, with a term expiration of December 2020.

Weather Emergency Declared to Increase Shelter Capacity in Bend
The declaration allows the use of approved alternative shelter facilities to provide emergency overnight lodging when the temperature is or is expected to be below 25 degrees Fahrenheit and all Bend area shelter facilities have reached capacity.

The City integrates best practices for sustainability into its work across departments and in partnership with the community.
The City is working with the community to increase energy efficiency and reduce fossil fuel use for cost reduction, health protection, environmental stewardship and economic stability.
The City provides affordable water, wastewater and stormwater services to customers while balancing the natural environment and sustaining critical water resources.
The City Transportation System Plan update process is underway to create a well-developed transportation system that enables people to safely and reliably get to their destination.
Forests (Deschutes Collaborative Forest Project partner)
The City partners with the Deschutes National Forest to provide wildfire safety and protect the forest as important wildlife habitat, an economic engine for our region, a source of clean and abundant water and a world-class recreational playground.
