Housing Options Made for Everyone
The Housing Options Made for Everyone (HOME) Committee makes recommendations to the City Council about ways to support housing development, through funding and other cost saving tools.
Committee Information
The purpose of this committee is toĀ assistĀ CouncilĀ with the development of a HousingĀ funding Workplan by reviewing, prioritizing, and recommending additionalĀ subsidiesĀ and incentive tools theĀ CityĀ could use to support new housing development.Ā

HOME will be composed of up to 9 voting members and up to 6 ex-officio members. Membership on HOME should be comprised of individuals with experience in or as representatives of the following: Ā
- Affordable housing developer from housing authority or nonprofitĀ Ā
- For-profit or market rate housing developer, local or out of regionĀ Ā
- Financial representative/mortgage lenderĀ Ā
- Chamber member or local economistĀ Ā
- Central Oregon Builder Association representativeĀ Ā
- Regional Organization representativeĀ Ā
- Employer within the City of BendĀ
In addition to the members above, Council shall select one City Councilor to serve as a liaison to HOME. This individual, along with the ex-officio members, mayĀ participateĀ in HOME meetings to the extent of offering input,Ā askingĀ andĀ answeringĀ questions, andĀ providingĀ guidance, but may not vote on any matters during HOME meetings.Ā
The chair and vice-chair of temporary committees may be selected by theĀ MayorĀ prior to the first meeting of the committee to best ensure they understand the Council direction for the committee.Ā
The HOME Committee final report to City Council will be published following the June HOME Committee meeting.
