BMPO Technical Advisory Committee

The BMPO Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) provides technical expertise and recommendations to support transportation planning throughout the Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization (BMPO) area.

What We Do

The BMPO Technical Advisory Committee supports the development and implementation of regional transportation planning activities throughout the BMPO area. The committee:

  • Provides technical expertise on transportation planning priorities and work program needs.
  • Assists in developing transportation plans, policies, and projects.
  • Reviews transportation studies and technical reports.
  • Evaluates updates and amendments to regional transportation plans.
  • Reviews transportation funding programs and project priorities.
  • Provides recommendations to the BMPO Policy Board on key transportation planning decisions.
  • Supports coordinated transportation planning among partner agencies and organizations.

Committee members review technical aspects of transportation plans and studies, identify transportation planning priorities, and help guide the development of regional transportation planning documents and programs. Formal recommendations from the committee are forwarded to the BMPO Policy Board for consideration.

Effective transportation planning requires coordination among local governments, transportation agencies, educational institutions, and community partners.

The BMPO Technical Advisory Committee provides a forum for technical review and collaboration, helping ensure transportation plans, projects, and investments are based on sound analysis and support a safe, efficient, and connected regional transportation system. Through its work, the committee helps shape long-range transportation planning for the BMPO area.

Members and Membership

The BMPO Technical Advisory Committee includes community members, representatives from local governments, transportation agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations throughout the region.

Community members are appointed by the BMPO Policy Board through an application process and serve staggered three-year terms.
