The Neff and Purcell intersection and surrounding streets have previously been identified by the community and a safety study as one of the highest priority areas of the City needing safety improvements.  The existing traffic signal at the Neff and Purcell intersection is regularly over-capacity and is in need of replacement.  With its proximity to the St. Charles Medical Center and multiple schools, increasing the capacity of this intersection is a priority for the City.  In additional to capacity upgrades to the intersection, sidewalks are needed along the north side of Neff Road where gaps currently exist.  A project to address the issues at this intersection is in the works with the intention to have plans ready for construction by mid-2020.
