An alternatives analysis will provide a basis for the design and construction of a new sanitary sewer trunk line and the decommissioning of individual aging pump stations. This project will address existing deficiencies and future capacity for Bend's southwest sewer basin.
Multiple deficiencies along the Amethyst/Mahogany sewer line were identified in the 2014 Collection System Master Plan and the 2018 Public Facilities Plan. Additionally, multiple residential private septic systems, along with undeveloped parcels along Highway 97 and the UGB expansion areas are currently unsewered. Lastly, the Romaine Village pressure area has been identified as problematic, with aging individual pump stations.
An alternatives analysis of the overall contributing basin will provide a basis for the design of a new sanitary sewer trunk, which will serve existing homes on City sewer. Additionally, this will accommodate future septic-to-sewer conversions, infill development, and the UGB expansion areas in the south side of Bend.
Phase 1 includes the replacement of 200 lineal feet of an existing sewer main along Amethyst Street that is undersized for current sewer flows.
Phase 2 involves the design and construction of a new sanitary sewer trunk that will tie into the existing system that runs along Mahogany Street. The new sewer pipe will run south along Ridge Drive and connect back into the existing system before it crosses under Highway 97. This phase will also provide the decommissioning of some of the individual pump stations located in the Romaine Village pressure area.
This project is funded by the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF)
This project will provide a sanitary sewer collection trunk line that will serve the southwest basin of Bend, addressing existing deficiencies and future capacity.
