An ODOT and City of Bend Partnership
This website addresses all phases of work along the Murphy Road Corridor. Planning and Design Phase I included the completion of a refinement plan for the Murphy Road Corridor between 3rd and 15th streets. Planning and Design Phase II began the preliminary design for several segments of the Murphy Corridor. Phase III includes design, environmental documentation, and construction of the following:
- Murphy Road from Parrell Road to Brookswood Boulevard, including the Murphy Road overcrossing of US 97
- Ramp connections to and from US 97, Murphy Road, and 3rd Street
- Construction of Roundabout at Murphy Road and Parrell Road
The City of Bend and Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) received special state funding provided though the Jobs and Transportation Act passed by the Oregon Legislature. This funding for Phase III allow the improvements to Murphy Road and the surrounding connections to and from US 97 to become a reality.
The City and ODOT have formed a partnership for development and construction of these improvements. For more information about this project, please review the US 97/Murphy Road project information sheet. The project design has been moving forward over the past several months. The original design concept evolved into the revised design concept, which was discussed at public meetings. Detailed plans and project information are located on the Murphy Overcrossing - Project Materials page.
Phase III has been officially designated by ODOT as the "US 97/Murphy Road: Brookswood Blvd to Parrell Rd" and is currently in Phase 2 of Construction. The City and ODOT are also working together to complete the US 97: South Parkway/Murphy Crossing Interchange Area Management Plan in parallel with Phase III. More details of the Murphy Road Corridor Project and other related projects are explained on the Project Background page.
