The Tumalo community is home to a new fire station! Today, residents, staff, and retirees came to celebrate the brand new building. Deschutes Rural Fire District #2 built the structure and leases it to the City of Bend Fire and Rescue, which equips and staffs the station. We're grateful for this partnership with the DRFD #2 and the community of Tumalo. The new station has four bays, a brick exterior to carry on tradition of old-time firehouses, state of the art renewable energy and sustainability features, and of course... a fire pole!

Happy Holidays from the City of Bend, Oregon Government! Today, City employees got together to celebrate the season and raise money for a local non-profit. This year the Humane Society of Central Oregon was selected as the beneficiary for our Holiday Potluck! Employees created raffle baskets, and all monies sold from ticket sales go right back into our community. Previous year's beneficiaries include: KIDS Center, Central Oregon Veterans Outreach, Inc (COVO), and Family Kitchen.

Snow Management Update: Morning of Nov. 28
The City of Bend continues its snow management today with plowing and sanding.
City crews are prioritizing plowing and sanding collectors and arterials.
Contractors are expected to complete the plowing of most residential streets by noon today.
Drivers should go slow and proceed with caution on steep or curving streets and at intersections on a slope. They should also navigate roundabouts with caution.
Weather forecasts for today do not predict accumulating snow. That will give City crews an opportunity to continue prioritizing collectors, arterials and problematic areas in residential neighborhoods throughout the day.
With ongoing increased traffic expected on Bend streets beginning early Friday morning, packed ice on roads and traffic delays are possible. Drivers should plan ahead to allow plenty of time to arrive at their destinations safely.
