Core Area Project to Host Two Free Community Events This Week

The Core Area Project is working toward a vision for the “Bend Central District”, an area just east of downtown Bend targeted for densification as part of the 2016 Urban Growth Boundary expansion. Check out these upcoming events to learn more about the current discussions and how development may take shape in this nascent neighborhood:

 

Guest Speaker Event with Mary Hanlon

Thursday, June 13 6-7:30 p.m.

Trinity Episcopal Church, St. Helens Hall

 Mary Hanlon will present examples of how other communities have approached Urban Renewal implementation, followed by Q&A. Mary Hanlon, founder of Hanlon Development, specializes in socially responsible real estate and economic development projects. Mary Hanlon has an extensive background in development in both the public and private sectors, having provided consulting services for over $2.4 billion in planned real estate development projects in Oregon, New York, Maryland and South Carolina over the last 14 years. Hanlon Development strives to enhance communities by helping create high-quality, sustainable, well-designed housing, commercial, and mixed-use projects.

 

Core Area Open House

 Join in helping to shape the heart of Bend by engaging in this fun interactive open house. The project team will have interactive materials and educational information available about the City's Core Area Project and the work of the Urban Renewal Advisory Board. If you are not able to attend the Open House in person, there will be an online version available.
