Temporary Westbound Closure of Franklin Avenue from Third Street to Fourth

Street Begins July 6
Beginning Monday, July 6, a temporary westbound lane closure of Franklin
Avenue from NE Third Street to NE Fourth Street will be required for about one
month. The detour route will include NE Eighth Street, Greenwood Avenue, and
NE Third Street.

Other daytime work and some night work will continue in one to two block
sections between First Street and Fourth Street. Franklin Avenue will remain
open to eastbound traffic until September.
Additional changes to traffic patterns are expected. Sign up to receive a

BUSINESS ACCESS OPEN

Business access will be maintained throughout construction and emergency
response access will be maintained at all times.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

During this phase of construction, crews continue upgrading the aging
waterlines, installing stormwater dry wells, and begin the full reconstruction
of the street so it’s safer for everyone who uses it.

Midtown Crossings Project

The Midtown Crossings Project is improving east-west travel between downtown
and the Central District and includes improvements to four key connections in
the area: Greenwood Avenue, Hawthorne Avenue, Franklin Avenue and Second
Street.
