Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization (BMPO) is the federally designated regional transportation planning organization for Bend. It serves as a forum for cooperative transportation decision-making by state and local governments, and regional transportation and planning agencies. MPOs are charged with maintaining and conducting a "continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive" regional transportation planning and project programming process for the MPO area.
What is the Bend MPO area?
The Bend MPO boundaries are slightly larger than the City of Bend urban growth boundary. The MPO boundary includes areas within Deschutes County that are anticipated to be "urbanized" over the next 20-years. These areas are primarily located to the east and south of the urban growth boundary and include areas such as Deschutes River Woods (DRW).
