Weekly Road Report for the Week of May 18-24

Franklin Avenue Improvements Project

Franklin Avenue Improvements City Project – This initial work is focused on replacing aging water pipes from 1st Street to 4th Street. Work will be completed at night to minimize traffic impacts.

  • Work scheduled from May 18 – End of June, 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.

Intersection of NE Brinson Boulevard and NE 18th Street

Intersection of NE Brinson Boulevard and NE 18th Street will have pavement restoration along west leg of intersection, 3-way flagging, May 19 from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Parrell Road

Parrell Road between Murphy Road and Powers Road will have tree trimming activities, moving lane closure with flagging, May 18, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Murphy Road

Murphy Road between Parrell Road and Country Club Drive will have tree trimming activities, single lane closure with lane shift, May 18 – 19, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

NE Lytle Street

NE Lytle Street between NE Revere Avenue and NE Quimby Avenue for a water main replacement, full road closure with limited access, May 15 – June 15, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.

NW Henry Avenue

NW Henry Avenue between NW Costco Drive and NW Declan Street for a water service installation, full road closure with detour, May 18 – 22, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

NW Bond Street

NW Bond Street between NW Wall Street and NW Greenwood Avenue for work related to the Deschutes County Courthouse, single lane closure with lane shift, May 20 – 26 from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

SE Wilson Avenue

SE Wilson Avenue between SE Centennial Street and SE 9th Street for rail, roadway, and sidewalk infrastructure installation, Full road closure with detour. Estimated closure from April 27th to Early July. We will provide updated dates when BNSF (the rail company) gets the city the schedule.

Windsor Drive

Windsor Drive between Brosterhous Road and Woodside Court for a sewer main installation (part of the City Septic to Sewer Program), full road closure with local access only, April 27 – End of August.

SW Colorado Avenue

SW Colorado Avenue between NW Bond Street and NW Staats Street for utility work, single lane closure with lane shift, April 20 – May 29, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Fargo Lane

Fargo Lane between Perrigan Drive and Orion Drive for sewer installation work for the City’s King Hezekiah and Fargo Sewer Project.

  • Fargo Lane between Perrigan Drive and Orion Drive will be closed with local and emergency access only, April 3 – June 30.

NE Purcell Boulevard

NE Purcell Boulevard between US 20 and Bear Creek Road for infrastructure installations, full road closure with detour, March 30 – May 29.

Intersection of SW Atwood Drive and Ponderosa Street

Intersection of SW Atwood Drive and Ponderosa Street for stormwater and water main infrastructure work, full closure of the intersection with detour, Feb. 23 – end of May.

  • Beginning June 1st, closure will be modified to close Ponderosa Street between SW Atwood Ave and Granite Drive.

Ponderosa Street

Ponderosa Street at the intersection with SW Atwood Drive will have stormwater and water infrastructure installation, full road closure with detour, Feb. 23 – May 29.

Ferguson Road

Ferguson Road between Magnolia Drive and 27th Street will have infrastructure upgrades, single lane closure with eastbound traffic only, Feb. 2 – May 29.

Magnolia Lane

Magnolia Lane between Hearthstone Lane and Ferguson Road will have infrastructure improvements, full road closure with local access only, Oct. 6 (2025) – May 24.

Butler Market Corridor Improvements

This project will construct a new single lane roundabout at the intersection of Butler Market and Wells Acres Road, and pedestrian and bicycle improvements on Butler Market between the 8th Street roundabout to Brinson Blvd. Construction is well underway and is expected to be completed in fall of 2026.   • Note: Butler Market Road between NE Brinson Boulevard and NE 8th Street will have a westbound lane closure with detour.
  • Butler Market is open to eastbound traffic only between Broken Bow Drive and Brinson Boulevard.
  • Beginning May 11th, Wells Acres will be closed at the intersection with Butler Market for 95 days. (Butler Market remains open to eastbound traffic.) Use Purcell Boulevard as an alternate route.

NW Harriman Street

NW Harriman Street between NW Kearney Avenue and NW Greenwood Avenue for infrastructure work associated with the Deschutes County Courthouse, full road closure through May 24.

NW Pakenham Street

NW Pakenham Street between NE Forum Drive and NE Jackdaw Drive for infrastructure improvements, full road closure, occurring until May 29.

Future Road Closures

NW Crossing Farmers Market (Special Event)

NW Crossing Farmers Market special event occurring every Saturday May 30 – September 26. Multiple road closures related to event (listed below).

  • NW Crossing Drive between Mount Washington Drive and NW Crossing Drive (Circle).
  • NW John Freemont between NW Ordiway Avenue and NW Fort Clatsop Street.
  • NW Fort Clatsop Street between NW Ordway Avenue and NW John Freemont Street.

Bend Handmade Market (Special Event)

Bend Handmade Market special event – Event taking place Saturday, June 6, from 6 a.m. – 5 p.m. Various Road closures in Downtown Bend:

  • Oregon Avenue and Minnesota Avenue between Wall Street and Lava Road.
  • Bond Street between Franklin Avenue and Greenwood Avenue.

Bend Summer Festival (Special Event)

Bend Summer Festival (special event) – Event taking place Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31 at 5 p.m. Various Road closures in Downtown Bend:

  • Oregon Avenue and Minnesota Avenue between Wall Street and Lava Road.
  • Bond Street between Franklin Avenue and Greenwood Avenue.

Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always exercise increased caution within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes. Nearby residential streets are for local traffic only.

Any road closure not listed within this report, please submit a service request to notify the city of any potentially unpermitted work within City right of way. Please visit the Transportation and Mobility Department to submit.
